Giancarlo de Vera

People with Disability Australia

Giancarlo de Vera (they/he) is a proud non-binary person of colour with disability, who is passionate about LGBTIQ+ and disability inclusion, policy and advocacy. They currently lead the policy and advocacy team at People with Disability Australia, the national peak disability body representing people with disability, is the inaugural Secretary of the Disabled Australian Lawyers Association, and sits on the Board of the Australian Centre for Disability Law as Treasurer.

Giancarlo is also the President of the Australian GLBTI Multicultural Council and, the national peak body representing Australia's multicultural and multifaith LGBTIQ+ community, and was previously Deputy CEO at Out for Australia, a national charity committed to improving LGBTIQ+ inclusion in Australian workplaces.

They were recently listed as one of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians for 2021.
