Alistair Sisson
Alistair is a research fellow in the School of Social Sciences at Macquarie University. He is a housing researcher with expertise in social housing, private rental housing, and urban planning and development. He has previously volunteered as an organiser in Sydney-based Action for Public Housing.
Alistair has featured in media providing critical analysis of state and federal housing policies and commenting on housing affordability issues generally. He has also published frequently in The Conversation as well as academic publications.
Alistair completed a PhD at the University of Sydney in 2020 and has previously worked at UNSW, University of Wollongong and University of Sydney. He has received research funding from the Australian Council of Social Services, National Shelter, Shelter NSW, Tenants Union NSW, Mission Australia and the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute.
