Ahmad Hakim

Refugee Voices

Ahmad Hakim is the founder of Refugee Voices, an advocacy organisation led by refugees. Its mission is to build the capacity of the refugee communities address policies that are harmful to the Australian refugee community.

Ahmad first arrived in Australia in 2008 after escaping Iran in the midst of political unrest. He fled with nothing more than a blanket and the clothes on his back.

Since then, he has worked and supported emerging leaders from refugee communities to advocate on the issues affecting them.
