Matt Lloyd-Cape
Matt is the Director of the Centre for Equitable Housing, an initiative at the think tank Per Capita. He believes passionately that housing lies at the centre of many social and economic issues, and is a firm advocate for broad housing policy reform. In housing, he has published on the topics of public attitudes and experiences of housing, house prices as a share of income, intergenerational housing issues, and housing policy reform.
Matt has worked in project management, policy development and research for over 20 years. His career includes work with the trade union movement, international development NGOs and with universities on issues of economic and social development, and social justice. His experience includes managing disaster relief and development projects, and conducting research and policy development on housing, trade, social policy and industrial relations in Australia, the UK, Eastern Europe, Russia, East Africa, Papua New Guinea and South Asia. He also worked in home construction for several years as carpenter.
Matt holds an MSc in International Relations and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and an MPhil in Political Economy from Central European University.
