Hugh Belfrage

Hugh Belfrage is a Director of the V&F Housing Enterprise Foundation. V&F seeks to improve Housing Affordability through supporting reregulation of the Australian Housing Market, and advocating for the appropriate provision of Social Housing. V&F believes that housing should be framed as meeting a basic human need, rather than primarily as a financial asset, and recently commissioned the report Housing Affordability in Australia - Tackling a Wicked Problem, by the think tank, Per Capita.

Hugh has worked with children and families as a Social Worker, as a teacher of migrants and refugees, and as a Linguist developing dictionaries and language programs in Aboriginal languages. In each of these areas, he has seen at close hand the impacts of inadequate housing, and housing stress.
